In the past two years alone over ten journalists died covering the war in #Lebanon & a higher number injured. Many exiled/assisnated over the past decade. Those were not the problem, and frankly, honest journalists here work & live with a target on their back.

Losing a war doesn't necessarily mean people will then take the right side. Germany,after the Treaty of Versailles,chose Nazism. Arab countries,after losing the six day war, became more authoritarian. In that context,some in Lebanon have taken a similar road after the defeat 1/3

Lebanon’s judiciary ordered the release on bail of former central bank chief Riad Salameh. Pre-trial releases aren’t unusual, you can’t detain a suspect indefinitely without a judgement. This begs the question: Why has the case not been deferred to court? Where is the trial?
