Just a reminder that from the day it launched on 5 July 1948, the NHS has relied on staff from across the world - from the Windrush Generation of 1948 to today’s workforce, represented by over 200 nationalities. Thank you to each and every one of them!

I really like this new article on psychological safety (a belief that we can speak up, take risks & make mistakes without fear of being judged, humiliated or punished) at work. It sets out a series of activities/approaches that all of us can use to build psychological safety in

We would get better outcomes in our action planning for change if we thought more about "leverage points". Leverage points are the powerful places in a system where small changes can lead to significant impact. They're not always obvious, which is why, when we are identifying

Today we remember the courage, conviction & indomitable spirit of Edith Cavell. At 07:00 hours 109 years today she was executed by a firing squad for treason . Her crime was to serve her country, heal the injured & rescue the lost & frightened. Our treasured Norfolk WW1 Nurse.

When we take part in an unproductive meeting, the effect isn't just the immediate impact of a waste of our time. The effect can go on for hours or even days. It's called a "meeting hangover": a period of diminished focus, motivation or productivity following a bad meeting.

Very often, when we have sought to create change at scale, we've focussed on how we can influence the behaviour of many individuals; nudging people towards better choices, designing interventions that encourage positive behaviours or compliance with a process. Is it time to shift
