Growing up, as Muslim, Christmas dinner was always at a Chinese restaurant. Because that’s what was open. Jews, Arabs, Indians filled the restaurants we went to. So it’s fitting today my family celebrate the second day of Eid at a Chinese restaurant. 🙏🏽 Mott 32 .

Appropriately, a Notice of Half-Masting has been issued by the Government of Canada to honour THE HONOURABLE JOHN ALLEN FRASER, P.C., O.C., O.B.C., C.D., K.C., former Speaker of Canada's House of Commons and former long-time MP for Vancouver-South who died Saturday.

1/New provincial legislation requiring to adopt a city-wide Official Development Plan(ODP) is a game changer, especially for 🙌

That was the right call from the Minister. The alleged Sopranos-style shake down of Edison Motors deserves an investigation. No business should have to get caught up in racketeering. It’s hard enough as it is without a big company trying to step on the little guy.

I was very impressed with Erin O'Toole’s testimony. It reminded me why I volunteered on his campaign. A true statesman of the highest order.

As Chief Christine Boyle had a grace and class to her- where despite partisan differences, she could work together on common issues, across party lines, for the sake of Vancouver, in a way that renewed my faith in politics. I wish her the best of luck and my gratitude.

This is embarrassing. I hope PMs Harper and Chrétien are taken up on their offer. Also kind of nice to see parties working across ever-increasingly rigid partisan lines.

I hope that all my friends in Taiwan are ok, and all my friends in China and Japan-under Tsunami threat, are spared from this massive earthquake.

The Canadian democratic tradition for elected Park Boards in Vancouver (1890) precedes the Canadian democratic traditions of Yukon (1898), Alberta (1905), Saskatchewan (1905), and Newfoundland and Labrador (1949). I enjoyed reading the history of the Park Board below.

I had a blast watching the screening of Ha Nii Tolxw (Our Food Table) tonight Kay Meek Arts Centre. I learned so much about the Gitanyow, their land, and laws. As Sk’a’nism Tsa ‘Win’Giit, Joel Starlund said, “Everyone should take the time to learn the history of the land they live on.”
