Have you heard of orbital resonance? or the Roche Limit? I was worldbuilding this week and calculated some astrophysics of Tahlia, the planet where my fantasy series takes place. Not sure I got it right, but after the research I was able to visualize a night scene much better.

I reached 41,208 words this week with my fantasy novel, Dark Ascendancy. The next 10k milestone is around the halfway mark (I think). After playing with the timeline this week, I am seeing where some scenes might smooth out some transitions in the manuscript.

Here is a list of my writing strengths. 1) Creating epic battle scenes ⚔ 2) World building of epic proportions 🌎 3) And, of course... procrastinating on all of the above. ⏳

If I want to grow, I have to ask myself the tough questions sometimes. Here is a big one I ran into today... "Are my characters actually feeling what is going on around them, or are they secretly knowing what I know?" Have a good night.

For those who haven't met my personal assistant, yet. Here is a recent photo of her. That is where she likes to hang out. Snuggled next to my feet so that she knows I am always there. Her name is Joy.

One thing I have come to realize that I love about writing, is the thought experiment side of things. It is amazing the golden nuggets that can be gleaned from such attempts. Even if it isn't concise or perfect in its creation, it can still teach us so much, including the author.

I am really looking forward to escaping the allergy season. Fewer migraines sounds like a wonderful thing to me.

I logged 1,618 words today to pass the 50k milestone in my Dark Ascendancy manuscript today. 50,472 words right now and ~3/4ths done with the first draft. This is my first time reaching that word count with any manuscript. Thanks to my support groups. I'm so happy right now.

The rough draft of Dark Ascendancy is done. It feels amazing. 58,473 words (234 pages) written. Plenty of work to do yet. However, it is finally a clear sign of a downhill battle from here. Thanks again to everyone who has supported me on this long journey.
