As the need for NHS beds in Scotland grows we should consider why it is so hard to get one. VOICES OF SCOTLAND Bed closures are taking a massive toll on Scottish healthcare | Morning Star. morningstaronline.co.uk/article/f/bed-…

Delighted Keir Starmer elected on first ballot showing unity of the Party, and that UNISON were first trade union to back him representing feelings of our members. No political celebration today as health crisis too important. Labour will put public services at front of agenda.

Will Jason Leitch ever stop making a bad story worse. He says he ‘agrees’ CMO ‘broke the rules.’ This isn’t a hand of bridge, it’s people’s lives. What she broke was the law.

Nurses receiving warnings in their email boxes every day to pay their £120 registration fee or they will not be allowed to practice. Good to see the Nursing Regulator and Tory Government paying their tribute to nurses during this health crisis.

The Nursing Director at Nightingale Hospital may only have saw ‘passion, community spirit and a willingness to do the right thing’ in the military before. I have worked in the NHS for 33 years and I see it every day in NHS workers and UNISON members. Proud of NHS, proud of UNISON

50,000 people have died directly and indirectly of the covid virus in the UK? Did First Minister of Scotland seriously say she couldn’t ask for information about outbreak at event in Edinburgh to be publicised as due to small numbers attending it may have been a breach of GDPR?

My kindest thoughts are with family and friends of Denis Keating as well as public sector workers in N Ireland. Denis’ legacy is always be there for people when they need someone. UNISON NI.

Moving elderly people from hospital to care homes before proper testing was one of the worst decisions the Scottish Government has taken. Really worried over Nicola Sturgeon saying it was over potential capacity concerns. These were real people, why move them unless required?

Even when he could have potentially earned credit for dropping the NHS surcharge for foreign health and social care workers Johnson had to be dragged to it on certainty of a backbench rebellion. The real credit goes to Keir Starmer and the Labour Party for moving the amendment.

I don’t know if it makes me sad or angry but PMs defence of Dominic Cummings that he acted like every parent sounds as if those of us who looked after our children ourselves, if having covid or didn’t visit elderly parents are selfish and don’t have integrity of Dominic Cummings.

150,000 redundancies announced in June alone. If you work in the public sector and you need someone in your corner to be with you in fighting for your job, protecting your pay and keeping you safe it’s time to join UNISON and elect Christina McAnea as General Secretary Christina McAnea

I am standing for re-election to UNISON’s National Executive in the Health Male. I want a union that works for you. Better Pensions, Better Staffing, Better Pay. The issues that matter to You.

It is outrageous that UNISON Health Workers in Northern Ireland are still waiting for a pay offer. Every day they save lives and make lives better, they deserve the same respect and same pay as all other UK Healthworkers.

UNISON members start to receive ballot papers in their NEC elections from April 17. Vote Gordon McKay in Health Male Seat for A Union that represents you, A Better NHS and Campaigning for Better Pay, Better Staffing, Better Pensions. For a union that represent you please vote.

Tory Councillor alleged to have said ‘all white men should have black slaves’. Says he cannot comment as matter under investigation. You could of course say you didn’t say it if you weren’t a racist but apparently not. I wonder why?

As a member led union every member has a vote on who they elect to represent us at a national level. The NEC election ballot opens on 17th April and runs to the 19th May. Please dont waste your right to decide and cast your vote.

Shocked UNISON leadership says our union is ‘too weak, too timid, too ready to give up the fight.’ I am proud of our members, will never blame them and support them fighting for better pay, better pensions, better staffing. Vote Gordon McKay Health Male Seat, UNISON NEC elections

Proud to speak for UNISON Health Group three times this week. Healthworkers to leave PRB and negotiate directly with Government on pay, better pensions and reduced retirement age, and fair and decent pay for all healthworkers not based on where you live or what job you do.

Asked for my view on Health Sec challenging RCN strike mandate. Have opposed Tory anti-union legislation for 40 years, been on strike every time my union has voted for action, never crossed a picket line, always speak up for our members, so yes I back RCN members right to strike.
