This is what happens when a camel photo bomb gets a little close. There was so much fun to be had at the Naperville 1st annual Halal festival with State Reps Michelle Mussman and @RepKifowit!

It's been a long time coming, but Illinois has now earned our NINTH credit rating upgrade. Our state is back in the A's with all three agencies now — a complete turnaround from the past administration's fiscal failures. And it means saving Illinoisans millions of dollars.

I was elected to the Illinois House in 2016 along with Rep. Teresa Mah who made history as the first-ever Asian American legislator in the Illinois General Assembly. #RepresentationMatters and in 2024 I’m thrilled to see the growth of the Asian American Legislative Caucus!

Here are the vote results. As my colleague Rep Gregg Johnson helpfully pointed out during debate, if the 118 members of the House were comprised of scientist, that board would have 114 yeas.

Thank you to all of my House colleagues for their support in voting for this legislation to protect students from AI-fueled bullying. Now it’s onto the Senate with Senator Adriane Johnson!

Nice work on all of your advocacy, Libby Magnone. Right to Play Act, HB3037, needs everyone’s support. See below to file a witness slip as a proponent and help make this change happen for Illinois student athletes!

Libby provided great testimony today in committee, especially highlighting how this bill supports girls and young women in sports!

Huge thanks to Ram Villivalam, IHSA, the coaches, athletic directors, principals, advocates, and especially the student athletes and families who helped make this happen. These changes will create more opportunities throughout Illinois and are a real win for all.
