Many places offer free access to the interent but only of you have the technical skills to sign up first. Creating multiple accounts to access a basic needs becomes a barrier to people who have recieved different levels of IT training while in education #digitalstockport

[1/3] We’re calling on the Govt to scrap VAT on broadband social tariffs, giving the cost-savings to the end consumer. #CostOfLivingCrisis Social tariffs help people on the lowest incomes to get online, but they aren’t affordable for everyone.

We've so far supported 17 households get devices for just £50 at this afternoon's tea and Tech and a further 10 people have been supported with 1-1 digital support with Starting Point SocEnt 🧡 🙌 So pleased to end #GetOnlineWeek with such a result 👏 😃

Massive thanks to Stockport Council #digiknow for funding 25 laptops purchased from Community Computers. These devices will be loaned to people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford a device. Another #digitalinclusion barrier smashed in #stockport
