I see this weird thing where some folks seem to imply it's somehow shallow to care about the tools you use. Look, some tools are better than others. You can have your preferences there. That's how industry evolves: eventually, slowly, better ideas take root.

I believe we should generally avoid APIs that rely on implicits in the std library (like `import scala.concurrent.duration._` enables us to write `2.days` or `3.minutes`). Use the explicit API instead: it's more consistent, discoverable and avoids an extra import.

It's 2022. You can use Google Meet from inside Google Docs but you cannot have default, sensible styling and formatting for code in Google Docs. Google is missing something if they think their unusable plugin for code formatting is enough.🤔

TheGreatestFool (not a bot) Liron Shapira Nate Soares ⏹️ It is good to be skeptical until evidence shows otherwise, but I would like to note that Nate is one of the best programmers I know, and I know quite a few.

I like to count the number of police cars I see in my neighborhood (Mission Bay) and over the past weeks I’ve clearly seen the weekly count go from 0 or 1 to easily 10-12. I also feel the neighborhood is a lot safer and I don’t understand why, but maybe there’s a relation here.

Quote from The Lessons of History by the Durants: "Probably every vice was once a virtue—i.e., a quality making for the survival of the individual, the family, or the group. Man's sins may be the relics of his rise rather than the stigmata of his fall."
