All jokes aside, the rhetoric surrounding immigrants as "invaders" who consume cats and dogs is part of a long history of racist allegations against immigrants and refugees. It’s not random; it’s violent and intentional.

There is also a rise in press about how productive Haitian migrants are for their employers... It’s time (*OVERDUE) to move away from the “good & productive” migrant worker narrative that only serves the purpose of producing support for migration for the “sake of the economy.”

If you needed proof to understand how antiblackness and anti-immigrant are linked, you know have it in plane sight. Antihaitianism is anti blackness.

I don’t think enough people are seeing that Trump’s dog/cat-eating remarks and Harris’s pro-militarization of the border stance are two sides of the same anti-immigrant coin. Ideologically, they are not that different. Both mutually reinforce each other.

There is no solution to a "border crisis" without recognizing the destabilization caused by U.S. foreign policy in Latin America, period. Walls don't work.

We should be aware that the United States invaded then occupied Haiti from 1915 to 1934 and took control of their institutions, resulting in instability.
