I don’t see how anyone with a shred of moral compass can read something like this and not think that what our nation’s leadership is doing is reprehensible and spiritually bankrupt.

We are such a spiritually sick nation. Left, right, and everything in between. Come, Lord Jesus.

We have the task of refusing to dehumanize even the dehumanizers.

It’s incredibly challenging when Christians on various sides think the other side is delusional, blind, trapped, etc. How do we know who is being faithful to God? The litmus test I believe is: Cruciform love. Living the Beatitudes. The Sermon on the Mount. That’s how we know.

Ever notice how when you agree with it it’s “prophetic” and “bold” but when you disagree with it it’s “political” and “divisive?”

"Why don't you criticize progressives more often?" I don't consider progressives supporting progressive policies terribly newsworthy. I DO consider Christians supporting un-Christian policies and behavior worth discussing and calling out. It's about the church, not the nation.

The irony of much of Evangelicalism in the US is that there’s an unwavering belief in total depravity, but so much disbelief in racism in all of its individual and institutional forms.
