A full evening with Potomac and Forest Park hosting Back-to-School Night at the same time! Glad I could make it to both and catch up with so many familiar faces.

Six school visits got underway yesterday, beginning with Pattie Elementary! I loved helping with morning announcements and welcoming students back.

Made my first visit to Ashland Elementary School - PWCS this year on Wednesday! Always great to see so many familiar faces in the classrooms from when my oldest attended, and to spend time with the amazing administrative team.

I visited classrooms at Henderson Elementary today and loved seeing our teachers and students in action. It’s amazing how much teaching has grown and changed!

Taking a quick break from promoting the breast cancer event to share a few photos from last week’s visit to Graham Park Middle School. While I was there, I had the chance to stop by social studies, language arts, chorus, and a gifted classroom.

I had a phenomenal time visiting classrooms at Potomac Middle School with Dr. Preston. I was also able to get a short preview of the new drama classes that the principal rolled out this year as an elective option for students.

I spent my evening attending the 6th grade back-to-school night at Potomac Shores MS. It was great personally meeting some of the constituents who contacted me throughout the first month of school.

Prior to the weekend, I attended Family Science Night at Mary Williams ES. I loved seeing so many students engaged in science, engineering, astronomy, and a variety of other subjects.

Huge thanks to Lara Brittain for inviting me to join over 500 students from 13 schools to sing the National Anthem. The kids did such an amazing job, and it was great to see all the work that went into making the event happen.

Spent last night at Potomac Middle School visiting classrooms and sharing my annual calendar magnets in the mixing bowl. Grateful to Dr. Preston and her team for always making me feel so welcome!

VEX Fun Days at Potomac Middle School this weekend! I love seeing our robotics program grow exponentially every year, and our students’ creativity and innovation are amazing.

Always up for something new, I jumped in to help hold the 10 yard chain marker at the Forest Park vs. Potomac game. Stood on the sidelines in neutral colors with two Potomac parents (both schools are in the Potomac District). Congrats to the Bruins on a big win!

I attended Back to School Night in my dual role as a School Board member, but more importantly as a parent, at Swans Creek Elementary School - PWCS outstanding event.
