This also makes open source completely useless as a concept. The other day I imported an MQTT library. Seemed legit, nice readme. A nice readme these days might even be a downside. It looked fine, but it did not work. After a bit of debugging I did get it to work a bit. But

It's strange people say communism doesn't work. Specially CEOs of very big companies say that. While inside very big companies it's basically communism. Employees cannot choose the CEO. There is central resource allocation. People get paid roughly the same.

This is very good for USA GDP, because people are spending so much money... Goodhart's Law: when a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure.

The USA is in trouble because they measure everything in money. They bought only 96 defence missiles for the war with Iran, while Iran will fire hundreds of attack missiles. They have the biggest defence budget, but at what cost?

What will happen in Europe now with the latest USA bombing of a poor desert country far away? More and more Muslims have been driven into Europe, which allows them to have a seat at the tables controlling public opinion. The USA is safely far away but therefore out of sync.

I always specifically like to work in the weekends because of the work-life balance. Just like they introduce wolves so deer population does not go out of control.

Europe should probably step in and assist the USA in this war. There is a reasonable chance the USA will lose this war, greatly emboldening the Islamic State. If Europe assists the USA, there is an almost 100% chance the USA will assist more in Ukraine. European defence,

First they are sanctioning Russia by not buying gas. And now Russia is sanctioning Europe by not selling gas... They are toast if they loose support of China their (now) only friend, so they are forced to sell them all of their fuel, now that Iran cannot sell.

More tech workers are moving from USA to Europe than the other way around now. Probl because of deglobalisation, where Europe now wants their own tech, which is/was 20-30% of USA tech revenue.

People in the USA are often complaining about the regulatory burden in Europe. But they conveniently forget to add the litigation risk to the basket to compare. For a robotics startup with 1m annual revenue, the cost are the same. For bigger companies, the EU model is cheaper.

Nvidia just added GenAI, mandatory, to all their games. The annoying "improve with AI 🪄" button in Excel? Now games also have it! I use the "remove background 🪄" in Google Sheets always. Always. But this is force feeding people. Not every use case improves with AI.
