Today, I made an easy choice. I cast my ballot for Ty'Relle Stephens. I voted for a Providence Public School system where EVERY student gets a high quality education—no matter who they are, where they’re from, or what they have. Ty’Relle, I’m in your corner. The kids deserve it all.

Hundreds of miles away, executives of multi-billion dollar corporation Nexstar—including $40M/yr CEO Perry Sook—sit in swanky office buildings, brag about their record profits, and kick aside already underpaid reporters and staff in Providence and across the country. Disgusting.

The Dems’ problem is not one of comms—it’s one of policy and delusion. There is no amount of messaging that will convince people they aren’t struggling FAR more than they should be in the richest country in the history of the world. It’s time we change their material conditions.

Last night, I was at a club in Providence. I was using the bathroom, when a man barged in and shouted, “IS THAT QUEER IN HERE?” Rattled, I left. And then I remembered: my government is on the side of the guy who barged in, not me, just trying to pee. I’m so scared for us.
