EAC SG Veronica M. Nduva, CBS is participating in the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), currently taking place in Beijing. This presents an opportunity for the region to renew its partnership with China & explore strategic avenues for collaboration to accelerate regional dvpt.

On the sidelines of #FOCAC, EAC SG Veronica M. Nduva, CBS alongside heads of Regional Economic Communities (RECs), interacted with Kenya’s candidate for the position of Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga, to deliberate on supporting his candidature.

🍃 EAC’s participation in FOCAC builds on the strong foundation established by the framework agreement signed between the EAC & China in 2011. The agreement has guided partnerships across key sectors including infrastructure dvpt’, agriculture & industrialization. Veronica M. Nduva, CBS

🌟 China is a strategic partner of the EAC! The EAC has instituted the Multinational Road Development Programme, which connects different Partner States to facilitate trade and integration. The construction of these roads is largely funded by China I.e. Kenya’s SGR Veronica M. Nduva, CBS
