Is there really any upside to making a big noise about snapshot deficit fluctuations? bit.ly/2sFL5zg Hands up who'll be advising clients to change their positions based on this... anyone...?

Just to be helpful, ThePensionsRegulator provides some excellent guidance to help employers comply with their auto-enrolment pension scheme duties. x.com/AShieldsLawyer…

Just when you though the prospect of a long Bank Holiday weekend couldn't get any better, now you can enjoy reading the DWP's long awaited guidance on GMP conversion. Put down the chocolates and pick up a copy! bit.ly/2V2I8Ju #DWP #EasterWeekend

Caution must be the watchword here. The economy needs an investment boost, but the cap on investment charges has worked well to protect many pension savers on low incomes. References to "unlocking" pension schemes' assets always make me worry. shorturl.at/hkmEU

Memories of Bleak House anyone? bit.ly/2GEiaWt If only the sorry tale of the British Steel Pension Scheme could lead to reforms in the way Dickens'novel did.

Pension freedoms were only ever going to benefit savers if the industry had their best interests at heart. So, it's sad to read in the FCA's Business Plan that some firms are delivering transfer advice in ways that potentially cause harm to consumers bit.ly/2uTGLkm

Not entirely sure the headline is justified, bit.ly/2qKblse but happy to see a continued push for improvements in standards governing transfer advice.

An interesting read bit.ly/2HKceuu A generation looking forward to an income stream in retirement is in danger of becoming a tranche of pensioners needing to work to recreate funds that were once guaranteed.

Things going from bad to worse for Stotts Tours (Oldham) bit.ly/2HNy28v . Hopefully a salutary lesson for any company considering trying to dodge its auto-enrolment obligations.

JLT's monthly index bit.ly/2rcl0Ip shows scheme deficits at FTSE 100 companies down from £40bn in 2017 to £15bn now. Good news, but still a shame when you remember that three months ago JLT also showed that only 19 of those FTSE 100 companies still offered DB schemes.

I have to agree with Ros Altmann on this one bit.ly/2I4F4Tu Seems fairly clear that the majority of pensioners who continue to work do so because they need to make ends meet, so hitting them with another tax seems fundamentally unfair.

Currently enjoying the true benefit of GDPR, by ignoring desparate emails asking me to resubscribe to organisations that have steadfastly ignored my attempts to unsubscribe from their emails over the last few years. How the tables have turned!
