North Carolina is moving to 8 divisions for wrestling. How is having 8 state champs good for sports? I don’t want to hate on the state as a whole, there is some good kids but if anyone wonders why their state goes 0-2 at Fargo every year it’s not rocket science. NCHSAA Sports

My take that states need less divisions is NOT a participation trophy take. It comes down to- does a better product (more competitive) encourage more kids to wrestle, or more schools qualifying (more divisions). I believe better comp sells the sport to both fans and new kids.
