Get those outdoor activities wrapped up sooner, rather than later! Chance for showers along with the cloudy skies you are seeing increases into tonight. Sitting in the 60s for the rest of the evening! Hope you are having a great weekend! WLOS #AVLwx

Wishing you a peaceful Memorial Day! Grateful for all who have served and sacrificed. Overnight showers in the forecast. Lows in upper 50s/low 60s for WNC. Memorial day is looking cloudy, cool, and a little rainy - it won't be a washout! Make sure to keep some rain gear on hand.

Looking a little orange out there in Brevard, even after sunrise. We are under a CODE YELLOW air quality alert for all WNC counties due to smoke from Canadian wildfires throughout this Saturday. Sunrises and sunsets may be more red in color as this smoke passes! WLOS

I travelled to the NOAA NCEI, which is the nation's LARGEST archive of weather data, based right here in Asheville! I talked with Carl Schreck on how these organizations use past data to predict the future. TUNE IN TONIGHT at 5:30PM on WLOS for our hurricane special!

Good morning! Here's a look at the storm reports from last night. A majority were from downed trees, which led to power outages in the Upstate as well as WNC. About 8,000 customers are without power in our area according to Duke Energy's power outage map.
