That was the hottest first day of teaching in twelve years. And those poor kids.

Nothing better when your kid comes home with nothing but smiles on the first day. He felt so welcomed by his teachers, loved seeing his friends, and was even greeted by the principal in the hallway. ❤️Feeling grateful.

There are so many days when parenting is difficult. And then there are those moments when you think, man I love my kids. That’s all.

This is what my tenth grader learned how to build in school. Choices in learning leads to growth, happiness, and a renewed love of school. Thankful for his awesome woodworking teacher.

We have recruited seniors to be ambassadors to the younger high schoolers so that they can promote a culture of respect. I’m hoping they address the new Tik Tok challenge. Change has to start from within.

Proud day for seniors at Vergennes Union High School who walked 6 miles in the pouring rain for HOPE. They raised over 3,000 dollars in less than one week to help overcome poverty and meet housing needs in local communities.

Students took a 1964 literacy test from Louisiana today. They couldn’t believe how confusing and ridiculous it was. If you get one answer wrong, you fail and you have a whole ten minutes.

What’s better than getting cards at the end of year? Students crying in your last class and saying how much they will miss you and how much they’ve learned. Nothing better, really. Although, I wish I would not have cried too.

What’s better than sitting behind a desk in middle school? Engaging in personalized interest projects. We should do this all year.
