Thank you, Vice-President of India, for welcoming our #KautilyaFellows group from 19 countries, and for sharing deep insights from Kautilya's philosophy for democracies like India and my home, the US. Ruminating on this one: "Democracy is nurtured ever mindful of the limitations of power."

Fitting that my pic would show up on this session, given that it was one my favorites -- particularly the breakdown of worldviews in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and the role theology plays in the region's seemingly intractable conflicts.

Indeed an honor to visit the new Parliament building and get a glimpse of one chamber's "room where it happens" -- the 543-seat, peacock-themed Lok Sabha (people's house) in the world's largest democracy.
