Unfiltered thought: If your brain reacts to ideas, suggestions or challenges (eg., 75 Hard) with a “But but but…” word salad of why you can’t…maybe there’s a growth edge in there worth challenging. (Today’s thought brought to you by Sunday’s unplugged run as I pondered the

A parent asked my advice on how to handle dirty looks and comments from strangers when their kid was having a hard time in public places. (context, I was an autism consultant and this was during a parent support group.) What's your answer?

In my 40s I had two epiphanies: 1) ahhhh, NOW I GET it…my parents were right… 2) kids don’t fully appreciate parental wisdom until they’re deep into adulthood. (ie., kid buy-in not the most reliable litmus test😆) Celebrating this ‘lil win, 25 years ahead of schedule.

After handling something challenging, zoom out. Revisit Former You. Remember how that person would've reacted, spiraled, ruminated, lashed out, withdrawn, shrunk, been offended, beelined for the pantry... It can be hard to notice growth until you revisit your former self.

I’m on day 48 of 75 Hard. Most days are easy - years of work and lessons doing their thing. Some days the whole thing p*sses me off. While I know this is where the work actually begins & the growth lies… It can still take a beat to not wanna bail and it’s still annoying 😭

Turns out I PR'd this 5k and placed 6th in my age group. I'm 4 months away from the next age group where I would’ve placed 1st. My long standing Master Running Plan coming to life: Stay healthy & age into placing at races.😆 Playing the long game is an incredible driver.

Vertigo took me down w/only 20 days left of 75 Hard. Wild & incapacitating😵‍💫 I’ve delivered humans into this world w/o meds, gotten stitches in a dr’s kitchen w/o numbing, run marathons, and eaten plain greek yogurt. Not sure I have much to prove re: mental toughness. And

Push limits to redefine pain. Years ago a trainer uttered a phrase I call up every time I challenge myself physically: "You are NOT in pain." He was right. Was I supremely uncomfortable? Yes. Was I in actual, physical, can't go on pain? No. Don't fear discomfort, lean in.

There’s easy money and there’s earned money. The kids have outgrown getting easy money (here are jobs you can do for Mom & Dad.) Now they’re nudged to take action, figure it out. Four days later she has $100. She reached out, landed a job, and exceeded her goal. 🔥🔥

"I don’t have time." The biggest lie we tell ourselves. You have time—it’s just being wasted on what doesn’t matter. Get clear on what’s important. Ruthlessly cut the distractions. That focus? It’s rocket fuel. (I've made a few key moves & the difference is tremendous)

Years ago I turned my avoidance UGHs into my CTAs to DO the thing. As a result, I ran all the hills, made all the phone calls, did all the follow up, etc. Everything improved. My running. My work. My relationships. Sticking with preferred and comfy only gets you so far..

The contagion of 'busyness.' Those low-value tasks posing as high-value contributions. The endless messaging, the back-and-forths - it distracts from quieter work that moves the needle. Extract yourself from the belief that seen work is more valuable than real progress.

Once upon a time... (it was yesterday) The spouse is catching up with a guy to congratulate him on landing a great job. Always of interest - "how'd you get the job?" Turns out the guy applied for it on LI. (What many do.) He never heard back. (Where most move on.) He went

This may be a new record. Had the season’s first down coat sighting. In New England we called this tshirt & shorts weather. Love the south.

This is one of many examples of what I call a 'Weighted Win.' Yes, planning ahead is awesome and high-five that you had the foresight to do so...but when you catch yourself in default mode, pause, and then pivot...🔥🔥🔥. .

I didn't qualify for Boston this year, but I did find myself on the heels of a high school cross country team practice yesterday. The kid in front of me picked up his pace as I closed in. Then his team yelled at him to "GO!!" Game on. We hoofed it to the finish and I'm pretty

If someone out in the world inspires you…share it with them. (Imagine if people were as quick to express their appreciation and admiration as quickly and easily as their ire…)

Sat in a 9 hour training yesterday. Today I feel I feel like I ran 19 miles. Just kidding. I feel totally fine after 19 milers. Sitting is the devil.😭
