Why zero-sum? Did we stop walking when we jumped on horses, rode bikes, drove cars, and flew aeroplanes? Text/speech/media can be generated/accessed via: - self - others - recordings - algorithms etc. So what? Seems OK to me. Universe is full of possibility.
