And so many of the “supports” for autistic people reinforce allistic standards as the norm and autistic traits as deficits, and seeks to teach autistic people how to be less of a burden on our families and society. It’s so so so frustrating.

The effort I as an autistic woman have to put into regulating myself to try control my meltdowns and manage myself is a form of accommodation I am expected to extend to allistic people despite the pain and hurt it causes me. We’re demanded to deny entire parts of ourselves.
