TODAY... I SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDED my DISSERTATION! I am Dr. Jahkari "JT" Taylor! I overcame homelessness, section 8, all Title 1 schools, failing 9th grade, HS gpa 0.75, teenage fatherhood, and grade probation in college...Your past does not determine your future! Never give up!

Today, I took the time to steal away and read one of the books I received from National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) by Chrystal D. Giles. Whew, what a gem. Couldn't put it down. Read in one day, cover to cover.

I am known for asking someone to "give me a second". One of the best leadership strategies I have learned.

Leaving a jammed-packed day of data and scheduling and looking at this sight just makes everything right with the world.

So excited that one of our own Bessemer City Schools gets to learn from the guru herself.
