Love this latest (and imo clearest and most compelling yet) take on the "abundance agenda" from Ezra Klein -- the answer to affordability is to make more of the stuff people need. Democrats have get good at helping good stuff not just stopping bad stuff. nytimes.com/2025/03/09/opi…

Great event! Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson we're much feistier and more pointed than I'm used to from their writing and podcasts, and Patrick Collison had a charming chemistry with them both. It feels like the book is having a real impact and forcing some uncomfortable conversations, love it!

So exciting to finally see these drone deliveries in the wild! Zipline designs, builds, and runs the whole system end to end, and they trained their drones in the hills of Half Moon Bay! Can't wait for this to be legal and commonplace here too!

Channels is the team I'm responsible for at @shopify, so of course I agree with this vision, but it's nice to hear it coming directly (and forcefully) from the founder! :)

I found this interview both technically fascinating and also inspiring. Despite following Blake Scholl 🛫 and Boom Supersonic pretty closely for a while now, I learned a lot about both the journey and the design and economic trade-offs that make Boom credible if not inevitable. Recommended!

How many years would you have to go back in time before it was just obvious that this must have been composed and performed by real humans? 1? Not more than 2, right? Amazing, esp. given how many details you have to get right to make a convincing, let alone compelling song. Wow!

Ugh, what's a more "non-partisan" goal than saving us from antibiotic-resistant bugs? Yet this transparently disingenuous BS will slow progress in ways that can't be easily undone. No one should be happy about this. Tragic for both the valiant researchers and us beneficiaries. 🤮

Sooo happy to finally take my first public @waymo ride right here in MTV where it all began! It's been 12+ years since my first "dogfood" ride, so I had to go to "Bldg 4" to toast Dmitri Dolgov and all the Waymonauts who never gave up! <3 living in the future!

Love David Crawshaw's take here, which I totally agree with. For those that don't know him, David is a highly experienced, "no BS" Xoogler engineer, so if you still think this AI/agent stuff is all hype, I'd urge you to read his experience and how it's changed his pov.

This! After 12 years at Google, friends are often surprised why I have so many "why doesn't google fix/do XYZ?!" rants, and it's because I know what they're capable of and desperately want them to reach their potential, so the gaps are both more obvious and more painful to me.

Fascinating results! As awesome as today's AI coding tools are, when it comes to searching large codebases, they've clearly yet to reach the desirable "fast and accurate" goal, and Jolt AI has a clearly demonstrable advantage still (disclosure: proud advisor and user). Cool data!

I've been using this for a while and it does indeed find a lot of subtle but real issues that normal copilot-style AIs missed (and also that I and my human reviewers often missed). Sometimes noisy but definitely a useful step forward, and I'm sure it will keep improving quickly.

Love seeing shops in Austria that still have Google+ and Foursquare logos prominently placed. It harkens back to a simpler time...
