This essay considers Isa 49:16, where the image of Zion appears to be inscribed on YHWH’s hands. Since the formulation על־כפים חקתיך is missing the suffix “my” on כפים in the MT, the word כפים could refer not to the palms of YHWH’s hands but to the soles of Zion’s feet

For New Year's, the Babylonian king went to Marduk's temple & laid down his weapons, crown & scepter. There the high priest listened to the king's promise that he hadn't sinned against Marduk before hitting him hard on the cheek. 'It had to be hard enough to make the king cry.'

I sent Nijay a text this morning asking him to send me a copy of his new book. Two hours later, I opened my mail to find this. Turns out he had answered my prayer before I even asked. Hey, Nijay, will you send me $1000? 😆

"I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing" (Rom 7:19). Many assume Paul describes his own experience as a believer with sin. But is this the case? J.R.R. Dodson joins me on Logos Bible Study Platform' What in the Word? to discuss. logos.com/grow/witw-roma…

Another fun Hercules fact: The ancient phrase “Another Hercules” (ἄλλος οὗτος Ἡρακλῆς) corresponds to how we might sarcastically jest: “No sh*t, Sherlock” or “Thanks, Einstein.”
