This will probably ruffle the wrong feathers but it needs to be said: A lot of parents say they want rigorous schools but don’t want what that actually means in practice Nightly homework? Sometimes bad grades? Stress? To be told that yes your child did disrespect their teacher?

The problem with ivory tower revolutionaries like Sirius White is that their plans are extremely heavy on the “let’s destroy the current system” and extremely light on the details of how they intend to build the utopia they promise from the ashes.

Carl Hendrick Jimmy Rotheram (@musicedu4all.bsky.social) This. Very few with PhD’s in history are out there claiming aliens built the pyramids. Very few with PhD’s in biology are claiming that germs don’t exist. Yet many with advanced degrees in ed promote equally crazy ideas in education and are the rule rather than the exception.

Adam Boxer I agree that science should be hard. However, it seems examiners often make the papers hard by having convoluted and misleading questions. I think examiners underestimate science if they think they have to turn questions into riddles in order to make papers difficult.

KayRay Dr Mine Conkbayir MBE Tony Lloyd Andrew Old BBC Radio 4 1. It’s nothing to do with children, it’s about dismantling authority. These “academics” are resentful & bitter because, in their minds, they are the most intelligent people in the world. As such, they should be rich, famous & revered.

Are there any other professions outside teaching where you can be doing the job for 25+years, and still be treated like you don’t know how to do it well?

Why is it never ok to watch a lesson and say ‘really good lesson there, keep it going’. But it’s not is it? We’ve got to find some spurious bullshit ‘EBI’. Imagine a world where good teachers could just be reminded that there’re good teachers occasionally? Heaven forbid😅😇

It’ll be 1984. Bin all the resources and admin documents you currently have and recreate what you had prior to the last curriculum review. In 5-10 years we’ll have another review and get you to recreate everything we’re telling you to bin now. Silly proles.

The student who derails class every day isn’t struggling; he’s dominating. And if you let him, he’ll continue to do so indefinitely.
