Greg Gerke says my 4 stories in this -- the 11th issue of Socrates on the Beach -- are "small, absurd, funny, and dusky portraits of American ontology" ... very generous. I hope you enjoy them humbled to b among its wonderful contributors

Rose bush that came with the house and was mostly dead when we moved in has been successfully revived. And look, it has a little friend!

Read an extract lifted from Figures Crossing the Field Towards the Group at the wonderful Elsewhere Journal. Selected for the issue centred around the theme of ‘Adrift’, this is a section taken from the chapter titled ‘The Murmurers’. elsewhere-journal.com/adrift/2025/6/…

I want to thank Elizabeth Ellen for giving a chance to this very silly sci-fi fairy tale that dropped today on Hobart (SF/LD Books). I hope you all enjoy. hobartpulp.com/web_features/m…

Looks like there’s some demand for more horror markets. Could be an opportunity here for any enterprising editor interested in taking on the wild and wonderful (and incredibly low-paying) world of indie horror publishing… Think about it.

New story up at Hobart inspired in part by the recent passing of Val Kilmer. It’s about my teenage obsession with The Doors and conjuring Jim Morrison on the Ouija. hobartpulp.com/web_features/t…

Love to see bookmarks on a story. Like, we both know you’re not going to read that saved story later, but for a brief moment you really believed you might and that’s so beautiful.

give a few minutes today to read this beautiful 270 word story about a near death experience. in many ways, ‘Sordid Little World’ by Gerri Brightwell exemplifies everything i love about short pieces of writing – lyrical, imaginative, & piercing. xraylitmag.com/sordid-little-…

My mom was diagnosed with cancer in Dec. Then they found cancer in her lymph nodes. Then more cancer. Then again—you guessed it—more cancer. Her chemo/radiation treatment was aggressive and so brutal. Well, we just got the results of her post treatment scan. She’s CANCER FREE!!
