Why is CO₂ so good at trapping heat? A new study shows that a strange quirk of the molecule’s quantum structure explains why it’s such a powerful greenhouse gas. quantamagazine.org/physicists-pin…

🚨 New quantum dynamics method: arxiv.org/abs/2403.07447 We found that factorizing the propagator into its Taylor roots provides the ideal framework for time-evolving neural quantum states in continuous space at higher orders. Introducing tre-tVMC! Computational Quantum Science Lab

How do we assess quantum advantage when exact classical solutions are not available? Check our V-score paper published in Science: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…. Thanks to Giuseppe Carleo for coordinating this effort of 30+ scientists. Blog post for more info: ibm.com/quantum/blog/v…

... just over four years ago, it took me weeks to complete a 2-qubit VQE with only 6 parameters. Today, I’m working with quantum samples from circuits containing thousands of gates. This makes me feel old but also optimistic about the future of these machines 🤓

Check out these quantum-centric computations of chemistry: excited states for up to 58-qubit molecules. This builds up on our work with RIKEN earlier this year. Congratulations Stefano Barison from Computational Quantum Science Lab for a great internship! Software available at github.com/Qiskit/qiskit-…
