Congratulations to Qiang Zhang who has been appointed Associate Professor of AI in Cardiovascular Imaging RDM Oxford and Big Data Institute. His work enriches clinical research with artificial intelligence, and is funded by British Heart Foundation rdm.ox.ac.uk/news/qiang-zha…

🎉 Excited to share my first first-author article on bioRvix! 🚀🧬 Check out our latest research on genome folding using the deep learning model Akita, co-authored with my amazing PI, Geoff Fudenberg. 🧬🔎 Read it here: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… #Genomics #Bioinformatics #deeplearning

Great collaboration between the Hughes Group and Watkins labs, reporting the first Gain of Function de novo enhancer causing Mendelian disease (ST Depression Syndrome), defining a multidisciplinary path with ML to solving non-coding clinical genetics. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

Bethan Psaila received a Senior Cancer Research Fellowship from our Research Careers Committee, jointly funded with Rosetrees Trust, to examine the development and impact of malignant bone marrow niches on #BloodCancer evolution to inspire disease-modifying therapies. #CRUKFunded

New NatureStructMolBiol paper from Ross Chapman uncovers DNA repair mechanism which can lead to the initiation and evolution of BRCA1 mutant cancers, which include around half of all inherited cases of breast & ovarian cancer. nature.com/articles/s4159… Nuffield Department of Medicine Centre for Human Genetics

Exciting news for Ahmed Lab here at the MRC WIMM! Nuffield Dept of Women's & Reproductive Health | Medical Sciences | University of Oxford

Another step closer to understanding T-ALL in children & adults. 💡 A team of scientists led by Sunniyat Rahman and Marc Mansour have found that DNA deletions can remove a 'promoter tether,' allowing the oncogene IRX3 to switch on and drive cancer. 🔗: ashpublications.org/blood/article/…

This is a really important new finding from Skirmantas Kriaucionis and team. I would urge everyone to read! Very carefully done and compelling.

Want to do a DPhil Department of Biochemistry at Oxford University ? Here is a link (bioch.ox.ac.uk/graduate-about…) to programmes that admit students. Great labs to choose from. Have a look at kloselab.co.uk if you want to know more what we do in my group! Please RT!

Applications are now open to study with us for a DPhil in Medical Sciences. Join the 2,200 graduate students who form an integral part of the thriving research culture Medical Sciences. rdm.ox.ac.uk/graduate-study #OxfordMedSciGradStudy #PhD #FindAPHD
