Our severe threat is over now; however, heavy rainfall has caused scattered flash flooding across parts of SE ND and the southern RRV. Some saw upwards of 3-7" of rain! Street and field flooding has been reported in Valley City, Casselton, Forman, Gwinner, & in Fargo. #ndwx #mnwx

Due to flooding on many streets across Fargo, the #FargoPD is asking motorists to stay off the roads and only travel if absolutely necessary. With so many streets flooded, there are not enough officers to block every flooded street. The FPD is asking residents to stay home if

🚨 This is just a test: first Wednesday of the month… however severe weather is likely in our area on Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures won't REALLY be decreasing until next week but the amount of daylight IS dropping. The Winter Solstice is the bottom of the barrel and then we start to gradually gain daylight in less than 5 weeks!

Less than 0.3" RAIN around the region today... last year it was our FIRST snow of the season. Still waiting in Fargo for that first measurable snow, currently tied for 13th latest in the record books.

It's 60° in Fargo! Get that last run/bike ride in, take the dog for a walk, go with the kids outside to the park: take advantage NOW! A Winter Storm Watch has been posted for most of our area for Monday night through Tuesday afternoon - the big change is coming!

From 60° to snow in less than 48 hours! Who's ready to do some shoveling before Thanksgiving? We go through the big change coming up on WDAY News at 5:30pm.

Tricky travel for your Tuesday (especially in the south) but it looks better for Thanksgiving at least. Take it easy on the roads the rest of this week: we've had 235 days without snow falling from the sky so it's going to take some getting used to winter driving again.

Parts of I-29 and I-94 are closed - really tough travel in the southern valley this evening. Take it slow if you must be out, snow will gradually be tapering off but the wind is staying strong tonight.

We had highs in the 20s today but the freezer door has been opened and the cold is spilling in: our first day with highs in the single digits. The wind is strong tonight too so feels like temps will be in the teen and 20s below zero in the morning.

Flake fatigue may be in the forecast: several shots at snow but most of it will be very light and a let down for cross country skiers and snowmobilers hoping for a snow base to build up.

What started out as light freezing drizzle is switching over to very fine flakes in Fargo: you can see it starting to accumulate downtown. Slick spots will become more numerous tonight, especially on untreated surfaces like driveways & sidewalks. Take it slow walking and driving!
