It’s a horrible thing to try to convince people not to have children. In the 1970s many were convinced the world was ending and they were all wrong. These people are pushing a political agenda, they have no concern for your humanity. wired.com/story/ethics-c…

Let’s stop this tired old “hot take” that the northern hemisphere on top of maps is arbitrary. We read from top to bottom and put the most relevant content on top. - 90% of people live on top - 70% of the landmass is on the top - Every major civilization has been on top

The clucking about whether Harvard Extension is the real Harvard reminds me of George Orwell in The Road To Wigan Pier explaining how upper middle class snobs "while theoretically pining for a classless society, cling like glue to their miserable fragments of social prestige."

According to Politico we’re fighting 2 wars. (And we have special forces on the ground in many other places) We all understand that the U.S. is involved in multiple wars and yet whenever that basic truth is inconvenient or “sounds bad” we accept equivocation ab the nature of war

Biden probably is too old, but he’s been a gaffer his entire life. It’s uninformed or disingenuous to blame every instance of misspeaking on his age. And let’s not forget how incomprehensible Trump is most of the time, too. Both of these guys make RFK Jr. seem like Yung Gravy

We couldn’t build the neighborhoods we fight so hard to protect today. Thankfully these handsome multi-family homes on Salem’s historic Chestnut St. were built in the 1800s. R1 zoning, min lot requirements, setbacks & parking minimums would prevent them from being built today.

Over 50% of Cape Cod's workforce commutes from off Cape as a housing crisis grows. 300+ units were proposed on a golf course in Hyannis. Environmental groups & wealthy neighbors sued, killing the project, further exacerbating the regions housing issues. bostonglobe.com/2024/03/08/bus…

I am begging parents — especially new parents, and especially mothers — to post their positive experiences with parenthood. Please!! You have no idea how depressing the mainstream parenting stories currently are!!

Rabbit just picked the wrong customer. I’ve been playing with it and agree with the reviews… but I also have 4 young nieces/nephews and think that they could love a version of it. what people are criticizing are the reasons a rabbit inc. could become a perfect device for kids:

Watch carbon dioxide move through Earth’s atmosphere. With this high resolution model, scientists can see CO2 rising from sources like power plants, fires, and cities and watch how that carbon dioxide spreads via wind patterns and atmospheric circulation. go.nasa.gov/46kD7OD

It would be great to know what the two main presidential candidates plan to do about the major wars that are once again escalating in the Middle East and Europe, but for now we must instead content ourselves with hearing about lots of trivial bullcrap

High tide across Boston’s waterfront reached almost 12 feet on Thursday and Friday afternoons, a phenomenon that — for now — can only occur a few times a year when the planets (literally) align. trib.al/q5ExXCD

Why do we pay thousands for health insurance and hundreds every visit if we have to wait months to see a specialist and if you your primary doctor leaves, there’s a 6 month wait to get a new one Plus…every visit takes 40 minutes to finally see the doctor and lasts less than 2

The worst part of this is that recycling could work if we approached it correctly. We could invest in building a true “cradle to cradle” supply chain. Doing this now would require remaking the entire system. Worth doing, but a task on par with curing cancer in ambition

It’s a bit like watching youtube video from 10 yrs ago vs a tiktok now. The former is long and filled with useless info, asides, filler and dead air. The TV medium wasn’t as mature in the 1950s. The production quality speaks to the maturity of the producers not the viewers.
