Game of the year is Variant Sudoku. Got really into that this year. Video game of the year is Elden Ring. The highs are still that good. I didn't play many indies this year. Probably give it to Vampire Survivors. Looking forward to Silksong the most in 2023.

Super Mario Odyssey was better than the Super Mario Movie.

I think I'm above 20 hours played of Tears of the Kingdom and at this point I was having a much better time with BotW. It's not a bad game by any means but a lot of it is rough. In some basic areas like controls, too. Not a fan of playing Finger Twister for some equipment swaps.

Way too soon to judge Starfield as a whole but I think I can safely say the region maps they have in the game are terrible. One of the worst things I've seen in recent memory in a triple A game. This doesn't get filled in. This is literally what the planet maps look like.

What kills me is that even if we accept this minimalist map approach to facilitate all the areas being generated when you land, there are still much better ways to have a clear, readable map. Even a scaled down version of the one the game already uses for planets would be better.
