The grade 4/5 Ss had the opportunity to experience a beautiful visit from author, Michael Hutchinson @_secondstory. Michael generously shared experiences that led him to becoming an author and embodies the spirit of sharing one’s gifts to contribute to their community. Bertrun E. Glavin School

Grade 4/5s engaged in a novel study of ‘Forever Birchwood’ by Danielle Daniel. Incredible opportunities for discussion & learning! Ss designed & created tree forts, researched traditional uses for the birch tree & learned about the land & resources of Southern Ontario. MYRCA Award

Grade 4/5’s were so excited to experience the solar eclipse today via livestream and various indoor learning activities. We could hear the cheers down the hallway as each region in the livestream reached totality. It was just a lot of fun! Science rules! Bertrun E. Glavin School
During Women’s History Month, grade 4/5 students studied the work of Indigenous artist Jackie Traverse. They noticed that her art is often inspired by strong women. Students recreated some of Jackie’s pieces using colored pencil, ink and water color paint. Bertrun E. Glavin School

Over 50 grade 4/5 Ss participated in theatre club, run by specialists in the arts, Mr. Epp & Ms. Lamoureux. Improv, movement, public speaking & various forms of communication were focus skills.
