Headed to the beach? Take your walk or run on the sand to improve strength, balance, and endurance. Sand stimulates muscles on the insides and outside of the ankles and calves. Small muscles and tendons in the feet are working to create overall stability and foot strength.

Stabilize the core when working on balance. Engage the inner core muscles, pulling up from the pelvic floor as if doing a Kegel. Draw the navel back toward the spine, then, “lift up” the abs as I demonstrate here: buff.ly/5gldQJ1
