Black women are nearly 4 times more likely to die while pregnant or soon after childbirth than white women. The role of racism in the 'appalling' disparity in maternal deaths may have been underestimated by the Government and NHS, MPs have warned.

This is the state our NHS is in, having been chronically underfunded for well over a decade. No wonder disasters happen. They happen due to lack of staff!! An overstretched workforce is a danger to itself and others.
