After nearly 500 days of brutal conflict in #Sudan, 38 trucks with critical humanitarian aid crossing from Chad is a crucial first step. Millions of families fleeing the fighting speak not only of escaping war but also escaping hunger. A ceasefire is critical to save lives.

Thinking of all the families affected by the floods in #Chad. Thousands of homes have been destroyed. Farmland has been flooded, livestock washed away. Communities in Chad have generously welcomed people fleeing Sudan. The world owes them support.

70% of #Syria's population require assistance. People like Rosheen have been forced to move countless times to find safety. Now, nearly 200 camps in the north-west could lose water and sanitation access by next month. I urged the Security Council to push for lasting peace. 🕊️

Recent evacuation orders in #Gaza are forcing people into just 11% of the territory. Every inch of land is used for shelter, even on the beach up to the water’s edge. I appealed to Member States to use their leverage to reach a cessation of hostilities & sustained ceasefire.

Millions of people live in hopeless protracted crises year after year. This $100 million CERF - The UN's emergency fund allocation aims to alleviate some of the suffering of those caught up in conflict, displacement, & climate emergencies. I urge donors to keep their eyes on these underfunded crises.

In my meeting with General Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan, I heard firsthand of the progress in aid delivery. I reiterated the United Nations's commitment to supporting the government and people of Sudan facing multiple crises.

Glad to announce that we've allocated $5M from CERF - The UN's emergency fund to help communities in #Chad weather the impact of the floods. Amidst dealing with the spillover effects from Sudan, these funds will help reduce ➖risk of cholera ➖pre-existing food insecurity ➖infant mortality rates

Understandably, this puts pressure on local resources including the health sector.⚕️ I am allocating $3M from CERF - The UN's emergency fund to support the provision of life-saving assistance for both Malian refugees and host communities.

🌊#Bangladesh has been hit by its 4th climate disaster this year, leaving millions in urgent need. Our CERF - The UN's emergency fund allocation of $4M will help humanitarian partners provide critical support to the 5.8M people affected by the floods. Let's stand with Bangladesh in this time of need.
