Behind every humanitarian effort are people driven by a shared purpose: to serve others. Their dedication inspires me. Hear from aid workers in NW #Syria as they share their stories for #WorldHumanitarianDay and show how they #ActForHumanity every day.

Water connects us all🌎 Yet, in conflict & crises globally, billions of people cannot access safe water & sanitation. This can impact food security & trap communities in poverty. Let's ensure #water reaches all, unlocking opportunities & breaking the cycle. #WorldWaterWeek

🛑 Stop attacks on health care. 🛑 Stop attacks on schools. 🛑 Stop attacks on aid. We are witnessing a widespread failure.🌍 International humanitarian law is clear: all civilians & civilian objects must be protected. #ActForHumanity

After nearly 500 days of brutal conflict in #Sudan, 38 trucks with critical humanitarian aid crossing from Chad is a crucial first step. Millions of families fleeing the fighting speak not only of escaping war but also escaping hunger. A ceasefire is critical to save lives.

Thinking of all the families affected by the floods in #Chad. Thousands of homes have been destroyed. Farmland has been flooded, livestock washed away. Communities in Chad have generously welcomed people fleeing Sudan. The world owes them support.

70% of #Syria's population require assistance. People like Rosheen have been forced to move countless times to find safety. Now, nearly 200 camps in the north-west could lose water and sanitation access by next month. I urged the Security Council to push for lasting peace. 🕊️

Recent evacuation orders in #Gaza are forcing people into just 11% of the territory. Every inch of land is used for shelter, even on the beach up to the water’s edge. I appealed to Member States to use their leverage to reach a cessation of hostilities & sustained ceasefire.

Millions of people live in hopeless protracted crises year after year. This $100 million CERF - The UN's emergency fund allocation aims to alleviate some of the suffering of those caught up in conflict, displacement, & climate emergencies. I urge donors to keep their eyes on these underfunded crises.

We need to do more in the international community at this time of extreme need in Sudan and Chad. Humanitarian response saves lives: For refugees, For internally displaced persons, For women and children, and For all those who need a lifeline.

Glad to announce that we've allocated $5M from CERF - The UN's emergency fund to help communities in #Chad weather the impact of the floods. Amidst dealing with the spillover effects from Sudan, these funds will help reduce ➖risk of cholera ➖pre-existing food insecurity ➖infant mortality rates

For over a decade, #Mauritania has generously hosted refugees. Understandably, this puts pressure on local resources including the health sector.⚕️ I am allocating $3M from CERF - The UN's emergency fund to support the provision of life-saving assistance for both Malian refugees and host communities.

🌊#Bangladesh has been hit by its 4th climate disaster this year, leaving millions in urgent need. Our CERF - The UN's emergency fund allocation of $4M will help humanitarian partners provide critical support to the 5.8M people affected by the floods. A historic drought triggered by #ElNiño has led to crop failures and starving children in #Lesotho. I am allocating $2M from CERF - The UN's emergency fund to scale up humanitarian assistance for communities to access sufficient food. However, long-term resilience is needed to prevent future crises.

This mother is among the thousands grappling with multiplied challenges in #SouthSudan. Fighting, lack of food and sanitation amidst #floods are just a few of them. This CERF - The UN's emergency fund allocation brings vital lifelines to communities - urgent healthcare, clean water, and safe shelter.

99% of us breathe polluted air. As I wind down on #WorldCleanAirDay, I'll be hitting play on UN Environment Programme's mix of tracks.🎶 Join me in taking a moment to reflect on the air we share. Clean air is everyone's responsibility, and together, we can clear the way for a healthier future.
