The recent torrential rain has greened up the shorelines. The earth turns. As I write this the radio is playing songs of Gordon Lightfoot, a 🇨🇦 musician who died yesterday and who's left us a rich legacy of music. I sing along🎶.

My mother is under the weather and the next door neighbour brought her a very pretty posy of spring flowers from her garden. A cough that was not of concern in my mother's lungs on Wed. (paramedic check-up) is still here today. First thing tom., will be a call to her doctor.

My mother is on the mend. She'd a 2nd paramedic visit earlier this wk (still excessive coughing/meagre appetite) & consult with her GP yest. Today, she is like a late spring🌺slowing emerging with the summerlike heat from the glorious☀️shine today. At 96 she still amazes me !

Rocks, greenery and water made a magical tableaux this morning.

Clearing away the leaves around the house, I almost hurt this lovely #toad. It reminded me that I was in the territory of the natural world and that I must go gently into it always. It has its leafy canopy again.

Some like to stand out, others to blend in.

June was when I last posted anything. I was saddened when a X obliterated what the bluebird represented. It's not been the same since, but (barring X charging $) I still want to be able to connect with my community. Heron in a tree yesterday, on the look-out for hope.

I am very fortunate in being born in 🇨🇦 & also where I now live in that country. The natural world I see daily is always special in some way. It makes me aware of other aspects of existence unrelated to me. It teaches me. It humbles me. It broadens my horizons. It seeks harmony.

Distraction from the multitude plights in the world for me was recently looking at the leaves on the forest floor. Trees don't fight each other, they work in a harmony. Their leaves nourish the soil on which they live.

I'm rather fixated with beech trees with their smooth bark that allows silhouettes of their leaves and branches & their small but nutritious seeds feed birds & squirrels. Sadly they're now dying out like the ash and elm trees before them. I'm mourn their demise.

Next wk these 2 beech trees will be felled. The pileated #woodpecker lunching on the invasive beech scale insect will need another diner. A native fungi is part of their demise. Up to 85% of the trees will die in 10yrs. I wonder what #Darwin would make of today ?

A Room with a View. Views that see spectacular sunrises & sunsets but also the quiet life of the loons on the lake, the muskrat going out for an evening swim & all sorts of vibrant natural life living as it should.
