Today we remember blood banking pioneer Dr. Charles R. Drew who was born on this day in 1904. He was an African American physician and blood specialist who started the American Red Cross blood banking. The iconic Red Cross bloodmobiles were his brainchild. Thank you, Dr. Drew!
