Lots of great players LOVE where they play and would take less money to keep playing there. There’s a big gulf between that and taking $12M when Toronto would’ve almost certainly offered way more (even if not top of market), assuming good health. These are fair questions to ask!

I definitely see the value in what Ben is talking about here in a vacuum. That said, I don’t really see the roster room if they ALSO add a leverage reliever, which seems like it should be a higher priority to me.
