I think this is true but is there data on eg happiness | working from home? Having more children?

Five years ago a reasonable optimist about remote work might have said widespread adoption would make people happier (less commuting), housing more affordable (fewer location constraints), and make people have more babies (more flexible family life).

But none of that happened.

Yes and no. In an equilibrium where everyone is using AI to generate writing, then it will still be easy to distinguish quality writing tailored to the assignment. We just have to adjust our bar. The issue is we are not yet in that equilibrium so we have to catch it.

My paper with Patrick Liu on attitude polarization has been conditionally accepted at the APSR. In it, we develop a novel design that uses AI to target 'core issues' on the fly. We unearth key scope conditions that we believe move the literature forward bit.ly/3VAoYtp
