This is fair. I'm probably minimizing the effect fear of arrest has on drug use anecdotally because data wise to me tells a different story. But drug data is inherently unreliable, either self-reported or only reported after arrest. So take what I am saying with s grain of salt.

Here’s what went down: we just won a clean 45 day gov extension, stripped GOP’s earlier 30% cuts to Social Security admin etc, staved off last minute anti-immigrant hijinks, and averted shutdown (for now). People will get paychecks and MTG threw a tantrum on the way out. Win-win

This is a good point about the Safehouse debacle. I think it shows how leadership across the board was divided on actual support. Regardless at the end of the day, legally speaking, private nonprofit org in no way controlled by City anymore than it controls the archdiocese.
