Alabama unleashed an unprecedented 3PT barrage on BYU. The Crimson Tide shot 25/51 of deep while going 10/15 on the few 2s they took. The Cougars scored 50 points in the paint but had no hope trading 2s for 3s. Mark Sears led Bama w/ 34 pts (10/16 on 3s) & Aden Holloway added 23.

Florida handles Maryland. The Gators shot 50% overall, 39.3% from 3 & had 6 players score double figures. UF turned the ball over 17 times but crushed the Terps on the glass, outrebounding them 42-20 & grabbing more ORebs than the Terps had DRebs. Derik Queen led UMD w/ 27 pts.

Duke defeats Arizona. The Wildcats clawed back after the Blue Devils came out of halftime red hot but Arizona could never get over the hump as Duke shot 60% on FGs & hit 11/19 3s. Cooper Flagg powered Duke w/ 30 pts, 7 asts, 6 rebs & 3 blks while Caleb Love carried Zona w/ 35 pts

Michigan State pulls it out over Ole Miss. The Rebels dictated the terms of play for the 1st 30 minutes but the Spartans stormed back w/ a 14-2 run. That set up a thrilling back & forth finish where MSU dug deep to grab it in the final minutes. Jase Richardson paced MSU w/ 20 pts

Tennessee takes care of Kentucky. The Vols shot 24/38 from 2 (63.2%), grabbed 14 ORebs & dished out 17 asts vs 8 TOs. Zakai Zeigler, Chaz Lanier & Jordan Gainey combined for 51 pts w/ Zeigler adding 10 asts. Jahmai Mashack collected 6 stls & Felix Okpara put up 11 rebs (7 ORebs).

Auburn flexed its muscles in the 2nd half. Michigan put them on the ropes to start the half but the Tigers found another gear, going on an extended 31-8 run to completely flip the game. Johni Broome, Denver Jones & Tahaad Pettiford combined to score 62 of Auburn’s 78 points.

Houston holds off Purdue. The Cougars were up 10 w/ 7:58 to play but only scored 6 points the rest of the way. Milos Uzan finished a brilliant BLOB w/ .9 seconds to secure the win. Uzan led the Cougars w/ 22 pts while Braden Smith dished out 15 ASTs for Purdue in a heroic effort.

Florida escapes Texas Tech. The Red Raiders were close to knocking the Gators out but UF closed the game on an 18-4 run thanks to some TTU missed FTs & wild shotmaking. Tech shot 15 more FGs & outscored Florida 22-5 off TOs but UF hit 18 more FTs. Walter Clayton led UF w/ 30 pts.

Duke hums past Alabama. That was a defensive clinic in the 2nd half. The Blue Devils shot 53.6% overall, held the Crimson Tide to a 35.4% FG% & 25% 3P% & outscored them 40-28 in the paint. 4 Duke players scored at least 14 pts while all 5 of their starters grabbed at least 5 rebs

Houston bludgeons Tennessee. The Cougars held the Vols to a 28.8% FG% (15/52) & 17.2% 3P% (5/29). Tennessee scored just 15 pts in the 1st half & the Vols star duo of Lanier/Zeigler combined to shoot 5/27 for the game. Houston had 6 guys score 6+ & outscored UT in the paint 30-14.

Auburn completes the all 1 seed Final Four field w/ a win over Michigan State. The Tigers held the Spartans to 34.4% from the field & 30.4% from 3. Johni Broome powered Auburn w/ 25 pts (10/13 FGs) & 14 rebs. We’ll have a clash of the titans next weekend in San Antonio. Get ready

What a defensive effort from Florida in the 2nd half to completely flip the script after Auburn gashed them initially. The Gators adjusted their coverages, finding ways to seal off the paint & forcing 12 2nd half TOs. Walter Clayton carried the UF offense w/ 34 pts on 11/18 FGs.

What a game. What a season. All credit to Florida for hanging tough through a Houston style game w/ their star struggling & putting themselves in position to steal it late. The Gators stuck to their plan & it brought them home. Final defensive possession personified their fight.
