Mark Parsons founded a leading robotics research and education program in Brooklyn. After 20 years, he returned home to launch #NewBedford Research and Robotics, where he’s set out to do something even bigger (including evidently robots trained to cut ribbons).

One hundred years ago today, the Wanderer became the last vessel to sail from #NewBedford on a whaling voyage. The vessel’s foundering on Cuttyhunk island two days later is generally considered to mark the end of the whaling industry in America.
