Fire Prevention Week matters! Cooking equipment was the cause of 599 fires, 34 injuries, and 3 deaths in 2022 here in British Columbia. As well in 2022, more residential fires originated in the kitchen more than in any other room.

#FirePreventionWeek Turn Pot Handles Inward. When cooking on a stovetop, make sure your pot and pan handles are turned inwards towards the middle of the stove. This prevents accidental spills and reduces the risk of your sleeve being caught and catching fire.
