I've been working in game development for nearly 5 years and I barely know what GDC is.

When my friends send me photos of their pets I can't help but turn them into demons to be slain.

Some studios have chased ever bigger 'open world' systems at the expense of a good narrative, diverse art direction and a tight core gameplay experience. I'm probably referring to everyone's favourite games yes.

This year’s The Game Awards is an embarrassing indictment of a segment of the industry desperate for validation via star power with little respect for the devs it’s supposedly honoring.

For a show called the game awards it seemed to have more celebrities, musical numbers and ads than awards. A surprising lack of developers too.

If your innovation is illegal, and comes with an enormous human cost, maybe you didn’t crack shit and you deserve to be sent back to the drawing board
