Over 800mm of rain in under 48 hours at one location in southern France, over 500mm in several places. The biggest rainfall event in the area for at least 20 years.

2¹³⁶²⁷⁹⁸⁴¹−1, discovered today, is the largest known prime. It's a Mersenne prime (2ᵖ-1), which are easier to find. It took nearly 6 years for the GIMPS software to find it after the previous largest known prime. It was also the first Mersenne prime found using GPUs.

Diverse economic portfolios respond to economic shifts easier. Diverse immune systems fight infections faster. Genetic diversity lets a population evolve stronger. Diversity is better. We should cultivate not cull diversity in our institutions.
