The other day I read a Sarah Jaffe newsletter and was like wow that new book sounds amazing I better go preorder it. I had it in the bookshop cart and then thought, oh, I better check if I already preordered it and there it was. It’s good to make a list of things we preorder.

ruthie gilmore helps me with this. instead of extractive relationships to written things, how can we inhabit them, how can they prompt our imaginations, incite our thinking. and how can we in community with others think about things that are not easily apprehended?

i find most conversations about academic writing to be very reductive.

Great episode here. I think there are a lot of overlaps here with how movements work. Movements don’t work when they operate on the level of belief and there’s a lot of context here about why that is.
