The Minneapolis City Council has delayed the start date of a controversial rideshare pay ordinance, pausing threats by rideshare giants Uber and Lyft to suspend their service for now.

That motions fails after only garnering three votes in support.

Mayor Jacob Frey And now news from Council Members Andrea Jenkins and Emily Koski… they will try to change the ordinance’s pay rate. It’s currently $1.40 a mile and $0.51 per minute.
The new rate that will be considered is $1.21 per mile and maintaining the per minute rate at $0.51.
A new study, led by doctors at the Mayo Clinic, surveyed Black and brown youth in the Rochester area about race and their experiences seeking health care. Their answers could help make medical settings more inclusive.
