Comprehension of #planetsatmosphere is a way forward to understand our Earth's #atmosphere. This year, a new course on #planetsatmosphere was given for curious #UHEL students. Thanks for your support INAR Victoria Sinclair Faculty of Science, University of Helsinki ATM-MP University of Helsinki LATMOS

Ice nuclei are small particles found in the atmosphere. They are the necessary seeds for snowflakes to form. Despite long research, properties of these particles are poorly known. Zoé Brasseur from #INAR, is studying them at CLOUD #CERN using our #PINCii. CLOUD-MOTION.EU INAR

Aircraft engine emits particles that can act as seeds for ice to form, and therefore cloud to form. We are currently studying the properties of these particles during ANR-UNREAL campaign. Thanks Ismael K. Ortega for running our instrument during this special time. INAR Joel F. de Brito

After 4 weeks, today the second ANR-UNREAL campaign has finished. Thanks to everyone involved @LISA_ipsl ONERA Ineris LSCE IMT Lille Douai Université de Lille PhLAM INAR the result looks really interesting...

doi.org/10.5194/acp-20… Atmospheric ions are present through the all atmosphere. In Beck et al. we flew an ion mass spectrometer from 150 m AGL up to the #FreeTroposphere to measure their vertical distribution and diurnal evolution above #SMEARII Finland GlobalSMEAR Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics

In our new CLOUD paper, we investigate upper tropospheric atmospheric conditions. We found a strong synergy between nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and ammonia gases to form new particles that can then act as ice nuclei. Congratulation Mingyi Wang et al. nature.com/articles/s4158…
