No surprise The Sun backing Labour. They’ve always backed the winner, because aligning with the consensus sells more papers. What’s mad is how much pandering to Murdoch there was in the past, as if he wasn’t always going to back person most likely to win anyway.

My timeline is full of Tory candidates, councillors, commentators etc. just making stupid stuff up about a SUPERMAJORITY. Given the whole “constantly lying” thing is probably what’s put a good chunk of swing voters off the Tories, the “lie of way to victory” approach seems silly.

14 years ago I voted Conservatives. I was frustrated about Iraq and naive to how awful and incompetent the tories would be, having only been 11 in 1997. Back then, I voted for change that has almost destroyed our country. Today I voted Labour Press — for change that can save it.

They didn’t play the way we wanted, but they got the win and that’s all that matters. Now they have to perform at the next stage. But enough #ElectionResults, let’s talk football! #sirgarearstarmergate

Sorry Nige. We had a referendum about the alternative vote and the nation made their mind up. And, as you know, there’s no going back in referendums under any circumstances #Elections2024 #Reform

It feels so weird to be learning the cabinet appointments and seeing competent people who you actually expect to do a good job — rather than totally incompetent nutters, seemingly picked for their hatred of their own new portfolio (cough, Donelan, cough).

Can’t decide if this is for the tories who lost their seats last night or the nation of Germany… or both? youtu.be/a-ixntLruNs?si…

Such a welcome change in tone and approach from the last lot. I just hope you can act fast enough to enact change before so many university jobs are lost and /9 much irreparable damage is done.

IMF notes the collapse in govt funding for tertiary education in the UK (even if they can’t spell it), making university finances ‘volatile and exposed to changes in immigration policy’. imf.org/-/media/Files/…

Not giving feedback for funding proposals seems to be very much in vogue right now. Surely your reviewers are making notes, you have some kind of paper trail, maybe some record of performance against criteria? How hard is it to share that?
